A MAN grabbed a 16-year-old girl and tried to kiss her at a Gravesend bus stop in a reported sexual assault.

The victim was sitting at the stop in Garrick Street between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on June 13 when it is alleged a man approached her and offered her money to come home with him.

She refused and he left but around five minutes later he returned, again offering money. The victim said no again and got up to leave but the suspect then grabbed her and tried to kiss her.

When the victim screamed, two women came over to help and the suspect made off. Kent Police is appealing for the two women who helped the victim to come forward.

PC Gary Morris said: "This incident left the victim very upset and we are making enquiries to locate the suspect.

"Anybody with information is asked to come forward and I would particularly like to speak to the two women who came to the victim's aid."

Anybody with information is asked to call PC Morris on 1474 366060, quoting crime reference XY/18460/13.
