AN ABBEY Wood man who assaulted a shop worker in a Thamesmead supermarket after he wasn't allowed to use the toilet has walked free from court.
Appearing at Bexley Magistrates' Court on Friday (July 5), Tony Flint pleaded guilty to common assault in Morrisons in Twin Tumps Way on March 6.
His solicitor told the court Flint felt “feeling humiliated and degraded” by not being able to go to the toilet.
The 57-year-old, of Manister Road, was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
District Judge Teresa Szagun, who was handed a psychiatric report, said: “You will not be punished on this occasion.
“I understand why you were angry and you need to understand that’s not acceptable, even when you are feeling angry. You need to explain your position better and I understand because of your medical and mental health issues it’s not always easy for you.”
Two other charges, causing damage to Morrisons by defecation and stealing £139.11 of goods, were dropped.
