A GRAVESEND woman has admitted arson after starting six bin fires in six days.

Julie Parker, 48, of Darnley Street, pleaded guilty to six counts of arson at Medway Magistrates Court on Wednesday (July 3).

She was arrested following a series of fires in bins outside businesses in Gravesend and was remanded in custody until her first court appearance.

The first fire was on June 26 at 8pm when a bin was set alight outside a car maintenance store at the Imperial Retail Park.

Parker targeted the same business again during the night of June 30 whilst bins in the same retail park adjacent to a carpet store were lit overnight on June 26.

A pizza takeaway in West Street was targeted on two occasions in early morning fires, once at 3.30am on June 27 and again at some point after 12.30am on July 1.

A further bin was set fire to in Perry Street at 1.36am on July 1.

Parker will be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be set.
