STAFF from the Princess Royal University Hospital have bungee jumped off the O2 dressed as Batman and Robin to raise money for the bereavement suite.

Midwives Sara White and Robyn Dalby managed to raise around £4,000 for the new maternity section where mothers who have suffered stillbirths can recover.

The campaign for the new unit in Farnborough has raised more than £6,000 with efforts from members of the public as well as staff themselves.

The Maternity Bereavement Suite is designed to provide a private, home from home environment for families who suffer the tragic loss of a baby.

Specialist bereavement midwife Lisa Moss said: "We have been overwhelmed by the support and attention given to our campaign and are so grateful to everyone who got involved from the planning and fundraising to the fitting out of the new suite."

Around £4,000 of the amount raised was collected by midwives Sara White and Robyn Dalby who bungee jumped off the O2 in Greenwich at the end of May dressed as Batman and Robin.
