THE man whose dead body was found in a Dartford alleyway on Monday morning had head injuries.

Police say a post-mortem examination into his death has been carried out and the results are due later this week.

Both the identity and age of the man are yet to be released by police and a spokeswoman said his death is being treated as unexplained.

News Shopper reported how Kent Police officers were called to Spital Street at 10.31am on Monday, where they discovered the man’s body in an alleyway next Gala Bingo, which leads to Sainsbury's car park.

Neighbour Sian Oakes, 17, who lives behind the car park described the discovery as “scary” and said she is now thinking about moving.

She said: “I woke up at 11am and I saw police talking in the alleyway. I got up and looked out and the gate was shut and it was all cornered off and they had police tape over where the incident happened.”

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: “We are currently awaiting the results of a post mortem examination and are currently treating the death as unexplained.”
