TWO sisters, one a member of police staff, have been jailed after forcing their way into a Beckenham home and attacking a couple with a baseball bat.
Norma Crawford, aged 47, of Mcneil Road, Denmark Hill, a Met Police staff member based in specialist operations, and Margery Wilson, aged 45, of Borkwood Park, Orpington, were jailed for two years.
They were sentenced at Croydon Crown Court after a jury unanimously found them guilty of two counts each of assault causing actual bodily harm.
On October 7 last year police were called to a house in Southlands Avenue, Beckenham, at around 2am after allegations that a number of people had entered the address and assaulted the two occupants, a 47-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman.
The woman was hit with a baseball bat, causing her to fall to the floor where she was then kicked.
The man received a blow to the back of his head from a baseball bat during the struggle.
Both victims required hospital treatment.
The female victim and Wilson were known to each other, having previously been good friends, but there had been a falling out over a number of incidents.
That night they were both in the Bridge Bar, Beckenham, where an argument happened which resulted in both of them being ejected from the bar.
