AROUND 60 children with cancer enjoyed a Disney-themed fun day in Swanley on Sunday.

The children and their families from EllenorLions Hospice in Dartford were faced with a child's dream, with sweets, activities and their favourite Disney characters.

The event held at The Woodslands by charity Lollypops - dedicated to making children with cancer smile - was the result of four fundraisers efforts leading up to the event.

Jake, Emma, Michelle and Jason organised the fundraisers, which included a zumbathon and a black and white kisstory party.

Money raised from these funded Sunday's event, which had face painting, a magician, 15-year old singer Millie and gift bags for all the children - made by the charity's founder Nadine Orpwood.

Much-loved characters including Princess Jasmine, Toy Story characters and of course Micky Mouse spent the day with the children who had lots of goodies from start to finish, including free raffle tickets for all children - resulting in at least one prize each.

One of the fundraisers, Michelle Hawes said: "The kids had a lovely day and it was definitely an eye-opener for people who didn't know about it.

"This event and the fundraisers helped to raise awareness for the charity to those who weren't already involved."

The charity raises money to help children under 18 suffering with cancer by providing them with emotional and financial support.

They aim to provide families with help, ranging from fun days out to buying them a new washing machine for the home.
