A SIDCUP school celebrated its 80th birthday in style by creating a giant 80 out of coins.
Pupils and teachers at Sherwood Park Primary raised a total of £642.10 in 5p pieces to mark the occasion.
And the art was unveiled in the yard of the Sherwood Park Avenue school on June 27.
Michelle Bristow, a member of the Parent Teacher Association, said: “It was brilliant.
“Last year we raised £500 in 2p coins and this year we did it through 5p Fridays since the Spring. By the end, pupils were bringing them in all the time!”
