ACTRESS Cheryl Fergison has won £10,000 for a local children's hospice on a celebrity talent show.

The Eastenders star from Sidcup sang her way to victory on Saturday's Your Face Sounds Familiar to bag the cash for Dartford-based children's charity chYps.

Ms Fergison performed as 60s star Dusty Springfield, beating five other celebrities including Alexander Armstrong and Denise Lewis.

Judges, which included Julian Clary and Emma Bunton, put her top of the leaderboard, with the public then voting for her to win the £10,000 prize.

Speaking after the show, Cheryl said: "I am so proud and chuffed to have won the money for chYps.

"The money will make a difference and it means everything to be able to create national awareness of chYps and the vital care it provides to very ill children."

Charity chYps needs to fundraise more than £1.47 million every year to provide vital hospice care in the homes of seriously ill babies, children and young adults across Kent.

Charity director of fundraising Rachel Holweger said: "We were over the moon to see Cheryl win on Saturday night.

"Not only will this help raise the profile of the only children’s hospice at home in Kent but the amazing amount of money she has won for us will make a big difference to the lives of very sick children and their families."

Cheryl will appear on the show again this week where her and the other five stars will perform again as other iconic musical artists, chosen by the show's 'randomiser'.

The show runs for six weeks with a chance of the winning celebrity receiving £10,000 for their chosen charity, with a further prize of £50,000 for the series champion.
