NEWS Shopper has received reports of a lorry hitting a bridge in Station Road, Orpington.
Station Road is closed in both directions, while Southeastern has confirmed train delays of up to one hour.
Yvonne Anderson, of Locksbottom, arrived at Orpington Station by train at around 4.30pm.
She said: "I was going to go down to catch a bus but when I saw what had happened I got a taxi instead.
"A lorry had crashed into the side of the bridge.
"All the road was shut off, the traffic must have been going all the way down to the high street.
"It is going to be like that for quite some hours, believe me."
Examiners are on site assessing the damage to the bridge.
No one was injured and the road re-opened at 6pm.
