TRAFFIC is slow in the Forest Hill area this morning due to an earlier building fire in London Road.

London Road was fully closed between 5.45am and 7.35am but vehicles are now allowed to pass the property.

Four fire engines, 21 firefighters and officers were called out to the blaze, which damaged the first and second floor of the property.

The brigade was called at 5.23am and the fire was under control by 7.03am.

Fire crews from Forest Hill, West Norwood and Lewisham fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
