A CYCLIST sustained a head injury in a collision near Lewisham Station this morning (June 24).
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.30am to reports of the accident in Loampit Vale.
London Ambulance Service staff treated the cyclist, who is believed to be a man in his 30s, at the roadside.
A spokeswoman said: "He was taken to King's College Hospital, escorted by a a medic from London's air ambulance."
Afterwards, police cordoned off the road leading to severe delays in both directions between the Thurston Road junction and the A21 junction.
The road has now reopened but long delays are still reported in the area.
