TWO friends who previously featured in a News Shopper article about the effect a benefits cap could have on the crime rate have been charged with affray.
James Smith and Ben Martin are accused of fighting each other outside Boots in Bromley town centre and are set to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on August 6 to answer the charge.
Smith, of Widmore Road, Bromley, and Martin, of Turpington Lane, Bromley Common, were arrested over the alleged incident on May 9.
The 20-year-olds appeared before magistrates on June 4 and were then bailed until their August court date.
