TOWIE fans are going to be well-jel  - these young carers got the chance to be bezzies with Amy Childs.

A Health Lottery ambassador, Miss Childs joined a support session with young carers from Carers Trust Bromley at Harris HospisCare in Orpington on Tuesday (June 11), to see one of the causes the lottery benefits.

Carers Trust Bromley recently received a grant of £46,801 using money raised by community interest company HealthWisdom through The Health Lottery.

The TV star and beauty guru sat in on a session where the young people talked about emotional and psychological issues, surprised even younger carers at a pamper session where she offered her expertise, and talked to them about her career and TOWIE over tea and cake.

The 23-year-old told News Shopper: “Today I’ve met all of the young carers- the families, the brothers and sisters.

“They have got it hard. It is quite emotional thinking what they have to go through.

“But I’ve been here today and had a laugh with them; talked about my business, talked about TOWIE and been boring them.

“It is great to talk to them and for them to talk to someone a little bit different.

“It is so important because there are so many people now that have to look after their families and they’ve got no social life, so coming to days like this I think is really important for them.”

“When I heard quite a few stories it got really emotional.”

Carer Matthew Hall, 18, looks after his brother. He said: “It was a fantastic experience to have someone so much in the public eye take an interest, it was really heart-warming.

“It makes me, and carers across the borough feel that our hard work is being noticed.

“I thought Amy was a lovely lady and was very interested in what I had to say, it made me feel great. It is brilliant that The Health Lottery and People’s Health Trust have noticed carers as a cause, things like this can make a massive difference and I for one am very grateful.”
