A BECKENHAM mother-of-three is one of eight women chosen to design a range of sex toys for Ann Summers as part of a new Channel Four documentary.

Jill Gulden Demirel, 34, of Balmoral Road, is part of 'The O Team', selected by Ann Summers' chief executive Jacquelin Gold after a nationwide search.

Mrs Gulden Demirel was inspired to apply for the project after her husband, Hus, was diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of blood cancer, in June 2011.

She said: "It started when I saw an advert in a magazine asking for people to come to an audition.

"At the time my husband was really ill.

"Me and my husband are really into sex toys so it gave us something to focus on apart from the cancer which was really getting us down.

"He would help with the designs so it gave us something positive to focus on and that I believe has helped my husband through the worst of his cancer."

Mr Gulden Demirel, who received nine months of chemotherapy, is now in remission.

After auditioning in late 2011, Mrs Gulden Demirel, who has three children aged two, 10 and 11, started filming in early 2012, and finished eight weeks ago.

Two of the toys that have come from the project - 'Buzzy Bits' and 'Panty Pins' - are inspired by her ideas.

She said: "I loved every minute of it and I discovered I've got a real talent and get brilliant ideas.

"I was the only one in the team who got two items through.

"It was amazing, I had the time of my life."

Now Mrs Gulden Demirel's eyes have been opened to the world of business, she is planning her own sex toy range.

She said: "From this whole experience I have learned so much.

"I am going to go on and do my own range of toys now.

"We are going to do some more TV stuff. We are in the process of setting up my own range, Jill's Sex Toys.

"I am just so excited at the moment. I can't wipe the smile off my face."

The project is the focus of new documentary Sex Toy Stories due to air this Thursday (June 13) on Channel 4 at 10pm.
