Forest Hill gang stabs teenager in Dacres Road

DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a teenager was stabbed by a gang of youths in Forest Hill.

The 17-year-old boy was in Dacres Road when he was approached by a group of between 10 and 15 teenagers.

They stabbed him in the back and thigh.

Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The suspects are believed to be aged around 16 to 18.

All of them were black, though their clothing is not known.

Detective Inspector Lesley Hamilton, of Lewisham police, said: "This occurred in the early evening when it was still light, with a number of people who are believed to have taken part and people who would have equally seen what happened.

"Luckily the victim did not receive any life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment."

Anyone with information about the attack which happened just before 6pm on Saturday (June 1) should call Lewisham CID on 020 284 8468, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
