Kat Seamon, 22, from Belvedere.

Why this design?

This is a portrait of my cat Tigger that passed away some time ago.

He suffered from chronic renal failure and heart failure and was told when diagnosed that he would only have 6 months tops to live.

He was on a cocktail of drugs and had a few lapses but two and a half years later he was still pushing on until he told us he couldn't go any further.

He was a fighter; the strongest cat I've ever known and I loved him to pieces - so I had to have him with me for the rest of my life.

How much did it cost?

It was roughly 5 hours work, which is £350.

Did it hurt? What did it feel like?

I have many other tattoos so each place is different - this is one of the easiest places I've been tattooed.

Every tattoo hurts - there's no way around it. It's bearable. Imagine having sunburn and then your cat scratches it - it feels a bit like that but constant.

After five hours though you do start to feel it. Well worth it though.

What did your friends say?

They think he's beautiful - I get stopped in the street with compliments too.

Have you got any more? If so what and where are they?

I have a lot of tattoos. I have a rose and horseshoe on my chest, Koi carp on my inner bicep, blue rose on the back of my left leg, kingfisher and magpies on my right leg, my dog's paw print on my right foot, a lady with bat wings up my right side, skeletons and cherry blossoms - an art piece by James Robinson - on my right shoulder, a symbol on my finger, mini skull and heart on my right wrist and diamonds on my toes. Safe to say I have a few.

Kat’s tattoo was by Jim Lynch at GB Tattoo in Northumberland Heath.
