A LITTLE girl was injured after falling more than 15ft from a top floor window in Welling town centre on Saturday evening. (June 1)

The toddler fell from a flat above Enigma Hairdressing in Bellegrove Road at about 7.50pm.

Paramedics arrived to find crowds of people who had rushed to help the three-year-old girl, named locally as Jia Yi Huang.

Neighbour Janet Aboderin, 37, was in her flat when she heard ambulance sirens.

The mother-of-three told News Shopper: "I had to cry and leave the scene because I couldn’t stand it especially when I saw that she couldn’t move.

"I was crying and praying for her at the same time.

"As a mother you feel it even if you are not the mother because the pain of giving birth to your baby is not an easy job so to see her on the pavement was very painful."

The little suffered a broken leg and a chest injury and was rushed to Kings College Hospital to undergo surgery.

Lauren Fenn, 18, of Ashmore Grove, Welling, was driving home from work when she saw crowds of people gathered where the toddler landed.

She said: "The ambulance put her in a neck and spine brace but wouldn't move her into the ambulance until they had stabilised her which was why she was there so long.

"There was also not a single spot of blood on the ground where she fell."

Police were called at 8.05pm but officers are not treating the incident as suspicious.
