A PUBLIC meeting over proposed fire station closures is taking place in Greenwich this week.

Woolwich, New Cross and Downham fire stations will be axed should the cuts go ahead.

A meeting is set to take place in lecture theatre 315 in the King William building of the University of Greenwich, Park Row, between 7-9pm on Wednesday The Draft Fifth London Safety Plan is aimed at saving £29m across the capital.

Tempers flared during a London Fire Brigade meeting at Sydenham School on Wednesday (May 22).
