CLASSMATES are slowly coming to terms with the sudden death of their 10-year-old friend and fundraising to make sure her memory lives on.

Olivia Dennis had many friends in her class at Warren Road Primary School and they are all devastated by her death.

She died at home following an asthma attack and since then pupils have raised more than £3,000 for Asthma UK.

They have done this in her memory by holding cake sales, selling special ribbons and completing sponsored activities, including head shaving, running and cycling.

The children at the school in Warren Road, Orpington, also hope to buy a bench and plant a flowering cherry tree with a plaque to remember Olivia by.

As well as always looking for ways to help people, whether by helping with a Guinness World Record attempt, or organising cake sales and fundraising events, Olivia was also a gifted gymnast and a talented performer.

Headteacher Susan Meckiff said: "Olivia was a beautiful girl.

"She had a happy, bubbly personality and she was a born superstar.

"Olivia loved school and enjoyed being on the stage or performing with her friends.

"Her bags of enthusiasm and energy shone every time she performed.

"Everyone at Warren Road Primary School, staff and pupils, feel so lucky to have been part of Olivia’s and her family’s lives.

"She was such a beautiful little girl who touched the lives of all who met her.

"She will always be in our thoughts.

"Olivia was a ray of sunshine and an absolute delight - she is sorely missed."

One of the next fundraising events in memory of Olivia is a mini triathlon by classmate Paddy Gray.

During the May half term he will be cycling around the perimeter of Goddington Park then running a mile to The Walnuts leisure centre and swimming five lengths of the pool.

He is doing this to raise money and awareness for Asthma UK.

Paddy, 10, said: "I was really sad when I heard the dreadful news about Olivia passing away so suddenly.

"She was a really bouncy character and she is now the class angel, who will look after the rest of the class while she's up in heaven."
