POLICE are appealing for help in tracing suspects after a passenger was racially abused between Bromley South and St Mary Cray.

Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) have released pictures of men who they believe have key information following an appeal in April.

The incident occurred on March 29 and began at Bromley South station.

Investigating officer PC Neil Allison said: “The victim, a 41-year-old black man from Orpington, was waiting for a train on platform four, near the stairs of the overbridge at around 12.50am.

“He was approached by three men who began to swear at him and used racially abusive language, which the victim found very intimidating.”

When the train arrived, the victim boarded a separate carriage to the men so he could distance himself from them.

After the train arrived at St Mary Cray, the victim and the men got off the train and they continued racially abusing him.

Police have reviewed CCTV footage and BTB have identified three men who they believe have key information about what took place.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTB on 0800 40 50 40 quoting B22/ LSA of 17/04/2013.
