A 29-YEAR-OLD motorist who was arrested after a crash in Sydenham, where his passenger is believed to have had to have his leg amputated, has been rebailed.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving after his Subaru Impreza hit a tree in Woodbastwick Road on November 10 last year.

He has been rebailed until May 31 pending further investigation.

His 26-year-old passenger is still in hospital after suffering what Bromley police described as ‘life changing injuries’ in the collision.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free the man, who had serious leg injuries, and it is believed he had to have one of his legs amputated at the roadside.
