A CHARITY helping people with learning difficulties, autism or mental health issues opened a café in Bexley community library today.
With support from staff at charity mcch, the initiative will see five people with learning difficulties being offered the chance to gain work experience at the newly-launched Hard Back Café.
Mcch’s project co-ordinator Denise Whiteman said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the people we support in Bexley, as it will give them confidence to be out in the community, learn new skills and provide them with real work experience."
Bexley community library manager Jonathan Rooks added: "Mcch has a community ethos that matches well with that of our own charity, Greener Bexley, and we're delighted they will be running the cafe."
Mcch work across London offering services including registered care, supported living and autism support groups and have 25 years experience supporting those with learning difficulties.
