IT HAS been a season to remember for all those involved with Beckenham Swimming Club.

More than 400 medals were won by the club in the first three months of the year and records have been smashed repeatedly by members from the club at Beckenham Road.

Six of the club’s top swimmers have competed at national competitions with two of these being selected at international level.

Luke Gunning, 15, was successful at the British International Open in Leeds and was consequently chosen to represent the country in the European Youth Olympics which will take place in July this summer in Utrecht.

Fellow member Lauren Walton, 17, will represent Great Britain in the 10K event in Portugal in May.

The club’s chief coach Tony Beckley said: “Our swimmers all work so hard and really put in the effort.

“It is fantastic to see so many of them achieving - they deserve every accolade they get.”

The future for the club looks bright too with Tamara-Elise Elliott, 12, breaking two records at the Kent County Championships in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
