TWO men in their 40s have been taken to hospital with one in a critical condition following a New Cross assault this morning.

Police were called to the scene of the Queens Road junction with Pomeroy Street at 5.40am.

A spokeswoman for Lewisham police said: "Two men, both aged in their mid-40s, have been taken to a south London hospital."

One is in a critical condition while the other has been treated for minor injuries.

No arrests have been made so far. Police have confirmed the incident did not involve a gun or knife.

Roads have reopened following an earlier police cordon but there are still reports of congestion in the area.

Btw, the article has since changed so my comment appears irrelevant! If you'd caught the original title and wording, it was slapdash reporting and actually pretty insulting to someone who had serious injuries.

lol! I know what you're saying. Honestly, it's the first time that I've ever criticised the actual journalism in this paper. I give my opinion on the story but I've not criticsed the story per se. This particular one just amazed me.
