A 27-YEAR-OLD Lewisham man has been arrested over the theft of a police hat at the Millwall versus Wigan FA Cup tie at Wembley.

The arrest follows scenes of violence in the Millwall end of the ground on Saturday (April 13).

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "The man was arrested earlier this morning at his home address in Lewisham on suspicion of theft of a police hat.

"He was taken to a south London police station and has since been bailed to return on a date in June pending further enquiries."

Officers from Operation Arrowtip are looking to identify all those engaging in disorder. Anyone with information should contact the investigation team on 020 8246 0076 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
