A CHISLEHURST horse collapsed suddenly in a field this morning (April 15), leading to dismay and distress from onlookers.
Owner Sue Clemence phoned up the fire brigade at around 11am and twelve fire fighters promptly arrived to help Leo, a 35-year-old Hanoverian
Even with all of this help, it took considerable effort to get the large beast off the ground.
It was an ingenious set of ropes which eventually managed to bring the horse up to its feet.
The London Fire Brigade said: "Using rescue gear, crews have now helped the wobbly horse to stand in Chislehurst and he's being looked after by his owner."
In his prime, Leo competed in dressage but nowadays he spends his life in a field near Slades Drive with two fellow horses.
