TWO Lewisham youths remain in hospital suffering from head, pelvic and internal injuries after a car accident on the chicken farm bends in Keston.

They were travelling in the back of a grey Fiat Punto in Westerham Road when it left the road, went down a verge and crashed into a tree.

One of the backseat passengers, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill, with life threatening injuries.

Her condition is now described as stable.

The other backseat passenger, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to the same hospital where he is also in a stable condition.

A 19-year-old man who was the front seat passenger was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, suffering from minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was arrested shortly after the crash which happened at around 3.40am last Tuesday (April 2).

He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been bailed until June 5.

The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
