A BROCKLEY bobby tweeting on the beat has hit more than 400 followers by telling people what’s really happening in the area.
Sergeant Jon Biddle from the area's Safer Neighbourhoods Team, has joined the Twittersphere to let his "lovely Brockley" residents know that he’s looking out for them.
After joining the site just two weeks ago - just the third policeman in London to join the site - he already has 415 followers.
The new Met venture is designed to keep neighbourhoods informed of crimes in the area as well as safety advice.
Sgt Biddle said: "People are really interested, it’s been really positive and this is just the trial stage.
"It’s good for the Met, helps people to be aware and is a great way of communicating to local residents. I think it should be rolled out to all the teams."

The scheme is also being trialled in Battersea, Sutton and Southwark.
