TWO best friends from Dartford are celebrating a £336,000 lottery win - thanks to a little help from a horoscope.

Carly Wiggett, 23, and 24-year-old Becky Witt bought a EuroMillions ticket after Carly’s mum Tracy said she had read the duo’s lucky stars column in a national newspaper.

It predicted a Pisces and a Taurus would win the lottery if they teamed up together.

Speaking at the Hilton Dartford Hotel, where friends and family gathered to celebrate, Carly said: "We did it just for a bit of fun.

"I never really believed in horoscopes - I think I’ll read them more often."

The pair, who have been best friends for 12 years, were getting ready for a night out for a friend’s birthday in Dartford on Friday when they found out.

Carly’s sister checked the numbers on an unofficial lottery site and they had matched five stars and one lucky star.

"At this point it started to sink in that we might just have won," said Carly. "I rang Becky and told her better come round, now."

Becky added: "We were supposed to be there for about 9pm but didn’t get there for 12.30am.

"My friend rang me and said ‘where are you?’, I said ‘I think we may have just won the lottery’."

The windfall totalled a whopping £336, 277.60 – a healthy £168,813.80 each, but were frustratingly just one ball off from bagging the £85m jackpot.

Carly said: "The number eight is going to haunt me for the rest of my life. I spoke to my mum afterwards and she said if you would have rang me I would have said, it’s my lucky number."

They are planning to spend some of the money on a girls holiday and help put in their quest to buy their first home.

Carly and Becky have been best friends since the age of 12 when they were in the same tutor group at Dartford Technology College - and have been inseparable ever since.

The pair both studied at North West Kent College and live just a few streets from each other in west Dartford.

Now they share lifts together to Lambeth where they are training to become Police Community Support Officers.
