THAMESMEAD neighbours have braved unseasonal weather to brighten up where they live over the past month.

People living along Coralline Walk have been transforming it by painting a mural of a bird.

The project - named Colour Coralline - was led by community artist Steve Wilson and has seen a once grey building become a colourful spectacle.

Emma Wilson, 37, who lives on the walk, said: "I’ve met neighbours that I had seen around, but never had the opportunity to talk to.

"This project has allowed me to meet people in my community and now we even discussed getting together when the project is finished. I think it has really brought out the best in people."

Colour Coralline was part of a project by Dulux, supported by Gallions Housing, Bexley Council, Trust Thamesmead and Groundwork London.
