THE front counters at Orpington Police Station and Biggin Hill police base will close as part of plans to cut £514m from the Met’s budget by 2015.
Under the changes announced by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime on Monday (March 25) Bromley will be the only police station in the borough to be open 24 hours seven days a week.
The front counters at Copperfield House, 190 Maple Road, Penge, and West Wickham Police Office, 9 High Street, West Wickham, will be open daytime hours.
And there will also be three contact points open on Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 7pm and 8pm and every Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 3pm.
They will be at 192 Main Road, Biggin Hill; 49 High Street, Green Street Green, and the Cray Police Office, 43 to 45 High Street, St Mary Cray.
There are plans to have a contact point at The Walnuts shopping centre after Orpington Police Station closes.
