A FORMER Gravesham councillor who only recently resigned his seat has passed away.
Colin Dennis had been the Labour representative for Painters Ash ward since 2010 but had been in poor health for some time causing him to step down on March 8.
The 68-year-old lived in Gainsborough Drive, Northfleet, and died at EleanorLions Hospice on March 20.
Gravesham Council leader John Burden said: "At this sad time our thoughts are with Colin’s family.
"Colin will be sorely missed by his colleagues and the community he served."
A by-election has been set for May 2 to coincide with Kent County Council elections.
