SYDENHAM pupils have been given tips on how to make the school bell ring on bullying.

Girls at Sydenham High School, in Westwood Hill, hosted a day to give the children help and support with bullying, teaching the elder students how to become mentors.

The school took part in the BeatBullying  event, with sixth formers taught how they can support younger students.

It was supported by the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Trust, which provided a grant to schools across England at the start of the year.

Head teacher Kathryn Pullen said: "We have a zero tolerance policy on bullying and girls know that we’re a school where it’s okay to tell."

The young people will become jubilee mentors in the hope of stopping bullying and giving children a lifeline to speak out.

Cyber-bullying can cause emotional depression to children at a young age. When they are being attacked, they may not forget it until they grow up. And because of humiliation, they might not get into social gatherings. Cyber-bullying can cause the child’s inferiority complex.
We blame teachers, government for not making the best law for this, the parents who are working so hard to make a living to support their kids. But I suggest that if we have a subject where it focuses on building a child's good perspective in life. Wherein psychologist are the one teaching those hard headed kids because they know how to handle attitudes like this. Because the main problem I saw is these kids have different views of life and respect. They think they will be respected if they are so strong by bullying smaller kids. They thought they are the best when other kids are afraid of them.I hope this can be a great help to parents like me who are being bothered by this cyberbullying nowadays.

My kid has been involved in a cyber-bullying. He is the bully. I was so surprised how cruel he can be using his facebook account. I was so upset that his victim was transferred to another school because she wasn't able to cope up with it. When the victim’s mother approached me, she told me of a service in the net, PGGUARD. It sends alarms whenever my son bullies again or uses harsh words. You can google it to know more. I am using it because it really helps me monitors my son’s social net accounts such as facebook.
I just hope the community and the government will give a higher level of seriousness to this. Even the involved are minors they should still make some serious investigations to it.
