Welling charity worker to run London Marathon after her name was drawn from hat
9:10am Friday 22nd March 2013 in News By Khaleda Rahman
A CHARITY worker from Welling will be running the London Marathon after her name was drawn out of a hat in January.
Communications officer Tessa Youens, 28, of Queen’s Road, works at EllenorLions Hospice on Coldharbour Road, Northfleet.
Tessa has already raised more than £2,800 in aid of EllenorLions Hospices and chYps.
She said: "I’ve got to know the patients really well and wanted to do my bit to give back.
"One of our dads had to drop out and my name came out of the hat so it was quite lucky for me.
"It’s quite challenging to find time to run with a full-time job, but our patients don’t have the time they want, so I can’t complain."
She added: "Please dig deep and remember we are a local charity supporting local people.
"We’re there to support families in their time of need, so please help support us."
