WESTMORELAND Road car park is set to close after Easter so work on an £80m redevelopment project can begin.
The car park will be knocked down and replaced with a leisure and residential complex which includes a 130-bedroom hotel, 200 apartments, 25,000 sq ft of cafes and restaurants along with a nine screen multiplex cinema.
Work will begin after the car park closes for the last time at 10pm on Easter Monday and is expected to finish next year.
Bromley Council leader Councillor Stephen Carr said: “This is a landmark development that will start to transform the town centre and provide first class leisure facilities for residents.
“Attracting high quality development has always been a critical part of our area action plan but the reality of this approach is that it takes time, particularly in the current economic climate.”
