A DISABLED sports team from Bexley have enjoyed a once in a lifetime opportunity to play at the home of cricket.
Bexley Barmy Army, a learning disability cricket team supported by charity mcch, battled it out against Luton at Lord’s Cricket Ground on March 11.
Amazingly the game ended in a draw, with both teams clocking up 287 runs each.
Kelly Stedman, community engagement coordinator for mcch, a group which supports people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs, said: “It was great to play at this prestigious venue.
“The people we support in Bexley are given fantastic opportunities to take part in sport and at Lord’s Cricket Ground, where all the greats have played, it was an amazing experience.”
The event was organised by the Cricket Federation for People with Disabilities.
