CHILDREN in Hayes are now scooting to school thanks to a shed which has been installed.
Pupils from Hayes School in George Lane had their prayers answered when Waitrose employee Jane Yates chose them as a project to benefit from money raised in-store.
A total of £240 was raised by the Bromley South branch in Masons Hill with the school’s Parent Teacher Association funding the remaining costs for the scooter shed to be installed.
Since being built it has been a big hit with the parents who can now walk their children to school without carrying a scooter home.
School secretary and head of the Scooter Scheme Helen Armstrong said: “We wanted to encourage people to walk, scoot, get on their bikes and leave their cars at home.”
