Bromley police seize 21 illegal cars

BROMLEY police have been netting uninsured drivers with roadside checks while battling wintry conditions.

The team seized 21 cars yesterday (March 13) and arrested two people including one man who was found with more than £1,000 worth of counterfeit money.

Chief Inspector Katrina Smith said: “We continue to target criminals by denying them the use of the roads so it’s much harder for them to commit crime.”

“Uninsured drivers are more likely to have collisions and less likely to have road-worthy vehicles.”

Operations like this will be continuing in the future to remind people of the importance of both road safety and driving with insurance.

Crystal Palace Park Road heading into Penge was one site, South Norwood is Croydon Borough. This operation is a Met Wide one so South Norwood would have been covered.
