A MENTAL health patient who died after being pulled from Cotton Lake in Dartford has been named as Mark Katnoria.
Kent Police officers were called to Galleon Boulevard, in Crossways Business Park, shortly after 10am on Wednesday, February 27, to reports of concern for a man swimming in the lake.
A boat was sent to rescue the 34-year-old man from the freezing water before he was taken back to shore and paramedics attempted to resuscitate him in the car park of The Wharf pub.
The voluntary patient at Littlebrook Hospital, who lived in Barham Road, Dartford, was rushed to Kings College Hospital in London by ambulance where he later died.
A post-mortem examination carried out the following day ruled the cause of death to be drowning.
An inquest into the death of the voluntary patient at Littlebrook Hospital has been opened and adjourned.
