MILLWALL footballers warmed up in Save Lewisham Hospital t-shirts ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter final vs Blackburn.

The high-profile support comes after Lewisham Council logged an application for a judicial review of the Secretary of State for Heath and the Trust Special Administrator’s decisions in the High Court.

The council has also secured an undertaking that no service changes affecting Lewisham Hospital as a result of the Secretary of State’s decision will come into effect before it has been dealt with by the court.

Shortly before Sunday’s kick-off local rapper Question Musiq – who was saved by the threatened hospital – joined the club to sing Lewisham NHS Healthcare Trust Choir’s fundraising track Save Lewisham A&E.

Millwall Chief Executive Andy Ambler said: “We will continue to support the fight to save Lewisham Hospital’s A&E, Children’s A&E, ICU and Maternity Units.

“This is a very important local issue for the community, and as we are a part of that community, it is only natural that we are fully supporting the campaign to Save Lewisham Hospital.”
