A NEWS Shopper reader is asking for help identifying his mystery charity shop find.

Tim Davis, 68, spied the bizarre-looking brass object in the window of an Orpington charity shop and says he found it "irresistible".

The former camera repair man, who lives in Farnborough, wonders if it might be a mechanical wine pourer but is appealing to readers to help him shed further light on the discovery.

Mr Davis, who bartered the strange sale down from £65 to £25, said: "I just happened to see it in the window.

"I couldn’t resist it."

Strange story,

The story is about a man trying to find out what something is but he already thinks it may be a mechanical wine pourer.

If you put "mechanical wine pourer" in google images it brings up what he has and what he thought he had. isnt that quicker than going to the newsshopper

Yes it would be easier but then this old fool wouldn't have his moment of fame in the Shopper.

I take that comment back 'Mate', I should have said " silly old fool."

As my old Ma always said, "there's no fool like an old fool boi. "

Haggling in a charity shop, regardless of the sometimes ludicrous pricing, is utterly contemptible.

Now watch him flog it at auction for way more than the £25 he paid for it and way more than the £65 being asked by the charity shop... Will he donate a proportion of his profit to the shop, I wonder?
