M25 Swanley road rage killer Kenneth Noye fails to reduce sentence

ROAD rage killer Kenneth Noye has failed in a bid to get a 16-year minimum jail term reduced.
Noye, 65, was given a mandatory life sentence in 2000 after being convicted of murdering Stephen Cameron, 21, on an M25 slip road at Swanley in 1996.
He had stabbed Mr Cameron, who grew up in Beachenlea, Swanley, in front of his 17-year-old fiancee.
The Court of Appeal refused Noye permission to challenge the minimum 16-year term he was ordered to serve, after a hearing in London.
Noye, who was born in Bexleyheath, had fled to Spain following Mr Cameron's death and was arrested and extradited to England, the Court of Appeal heard.
Lawyers for Noye argued that some of the nine months he spent on remand in Spain awaiting extradition should have been taken off his 16-year minimum jail term.
But three appeal judges dismissed Noye's application for leave to appeal - saying it was "wholly without merit".
One said Noye had been free to return to England because he had known that police investigating Mr Cameron's murder wanted to question him.
