Downham moped crash victim Jack Bowker's friends pay tribute to him
FRIENDS of a teenager who died after being fatally injured in a crash on his moped have been left ‘heartbroken’ by his death.
They are struggling to come to terms with the loss of Jack Bowker who was travelling along Warren Avenue, Downham, when he collided with a parked car at around 2.50pm on Sunday afternoon.
The 17-year-old was taken to Kings College Hospital suffering from severe head injuries and died there on Monday night (March 11).
Aaron Parsons lives in Ravensbourne Avenue just a few doors away from where Jack lived with his mum and says he is gutted.
He said: “I’m heartbroken.
“He had his head screwed on right and he wasn’t silly.
“He was very quiet and supported his whole family and he was always there when you needed him.”
Mr Parsons says Jack’s mum had recently been seriously ill and had only come out of hospital about a week ago.
The 33-year-old added: “He paid all the bills and the medical bills and supported his whole family.
“There wasn’t a bad bone in his body and he always had a smile on his face.
“He’s going to be missed.”
