AN ARTIST from Bromley was presented with a national art award at the House of Lords last Wednesday (February 27).

Pat Tucker, 86, of Bromley Avenue, was selected from over 2,000 entries in the 'seascape' category of the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) Over Sixties Art Awards.

She collected her award - which was won for her painting Rigging on HMS Victory - from Countess Margaret of Mar, along with 28 other award winners in various categories.

Mrs Tucker said: "I was delighted to receive the award and had a delightful day at the House of Lords - I would like to have tea at the House of Lords every day.

"I love art - I have done it all my life and as long as I can I'll keep doing it."

Her paintings and the paintings of other local artists can currently be seen hanging in Bromley library.
