3:33pm Wednesday 6th March 2013 in News By Mark Chandler
POLICE are appealing over a North Greenwich station attack which saw a Longfield man knocked unconscious and left with a broken leg.
Officers have released CCTV images of two men they want to trace over the incident, which happened at around 2.15am on January 1 at the underground station.
As the 42-year-old victim was leaving the station he saw another man on the ground being seriously assaulted by two other men.
He intervened and was then attacked himself, resulting in him sustaining a broken leg and being knocked unconscious.
Detective Constable Carl Wayte from British Transport Police said: "We’ve carried out a number of enquiries to try and establish the identity of these men, including speaking to witnesses and circulating images on police intelligence systems, but to no avail so far."
