DARTFORD residents showed real heart in February by raising nearly £1,200 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Events during British Heart Month included a quiz night at St Edmund’s Living Well Church bringing in £383, and an appearance by a vintage fire engine in the High Street which raised £330.
There was also a Rock Up in Red mufti day by Dartford Council staff, a candlelit tea party at Acacia Fitness on Valentine’s Day and a Stone Parish Council senior citizens’ tea and cake morning.
Dartford Council lead member for health, Councillor Ann Allen, said: "It was great to see so many local people supporting National Heart Month and organising their own events."
Louise Parkes, fundraising director at the BHF, added: "A huge thanks to the people in Dartford for their fantastic fundraising efforts."
