Number of planning applications submitted to Bexley Council increases

THE number of planning applications submitted to Bexley Council is increasing, according to the latest figures.

Between October and December last year, a total of 516 planning applications were received by the council.

This is nearly 100 more than the 429 submitted between July and September last year and the number is also up on the 450 received during the same three months in 2011.

In a report to the planning committee, Bexley Council’s head of development control Susan Clark wrote: “This is an encouraging sign of a slight upturn in local activity but it remains to be seen if this is carried forward into the New Year.”

Among applications put before the committee during this period was the regeneration of Erith’s Larner Road estate and phase three of the Tavy Bridge regeneration project.

Twenty-four appeals were also made during the three-months.
