Justin Bieber fans upset by delay at The O2 in Greenwich

THE O2 has apologised to young fans after teenage superstar Justin Bieber was nearly two hours late on stage at last night’s concert.

The Canadian artist was opening the first of four nights at the venue in Greenwich but failed to start his performance until nearly 10.30pm, hundreds of Twitter users have complained.

Parents used the social media site to criticise the 19-year-old, who was booed by the audience, for leaving young fans waiting on a school night.

At 11.36pm, the official account for The 02 tweeted: "Justin Bieber is now on stage and apologises for the lateness of his show."

It later added: "Sorry to all the Justin Bieber fans for the lateness of his show tonight. The Tube will still be running when the show finishes."

An official account for Transport for London warned of busy trains on the Jubilee line following the concert, with the last train at 12.15am.

But many youngsters were forced to miss his performance altogether in order to get their last train out of London.

Father Wayne Parsonage tweeted that he ended up missing Bieber's performance so he could make the last train home, and later added: "Discusting!! Waste of my time and money...never again."

Another tweet complained: "Justin Bieber needs to understand he has fans that are really young he can't come on stage like 1 hour and 45 mins late on a school night!"

The world-wide Believe tour has already stopped in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Nottingham.

Would you have booed the Bieber? Have your say below.

Ah diddums, was it past your bedtime? Serves you right for shelling out good money on such a non-event.

Why would a responsible parent take their young teenager out on a school night anyway? Even if he'd come on stage when he was meant to (8:30) it wouldn't have finished til 10ish?

Fair point, by the time they were home it would have to be at least 11pm. It's no wonder we hear about kids falling asleep at school. Totally irresponsible.

Hope he has a good explanation and that those who had to leave get a refund.
As for the above commenters. Get a life, teenagers are allowed to have some fun even on a school night. Hardly makes you a bad parent.

There are parents moaning that they have paid £400 for 3 tickets and living in Folkestone in some cases. More fool them I say their children are 10 and the other 14!!!

Bieber has the last laugh as always. Just another very average, very 'pretty' pop sensation - here today, gone tomorrow, forgotten even more quickly. Mind you, he's cashing in now and more fool all those stupid people who spent hard-earned cash on extortionate tickets after being 'blackmailed' by their own whining offspring. As I said before ah diddums.

I thought I'd say how brilliant this stunt has been. Who wouldn't want to get on the 6 o'clock news? I don't think Frank Sinatra managed that. I've worked in the music business for 42 yrs and not thought of this one. Tech. difficulties or not, I've never been involved in anything that started more than a few minutes late (and I've done live broadcasts to 500 million people) Do you really think we can't see past this? I do hope everyone claims their ticket money back and sends this mob where they deserve to be. I,E. very unpopular with the promoter and the venue and the fans.

When I was younger and used to go and see bands they hardly ever took to the stage on time. They'd regularly be an hour or more late in playing. It was all part of the build up and a way to create extra excitement for the audience. It's only a problem because these were schoolkids who shouldn't have been there on a school night anyway.
