BROMLEY Police need assistance identifying a man who assaulted a 12-year-old girl in Shaftesbury Park, Bromley, while disguised as a granny.

The suspect's curious attire included a grey 'granny-style' wig, a fake mole on his right cheek - which fell off during the assault - and a walking stick.

The incident occurred when the girl and her friend were playing in the park at lunchtime on Sunday February 24.

When her friend briefly went to the shops, the man approached the victim, threw his walking stick to the side, pushed her off a swing and pinned her to the ground.

He lifted her top, but she kicked him in the jaw and escaped, running off across the park.

The man then ran towards Valeswood Road.

The victim described the suspect as a dark skinned black male in his late teens, approximately 5’9" tall, with brown eyes and lots of nasal hair.

He had a gold tooth on the upper right of his mouth next to the central teeth, scabby lips, stubble and a silver stud earring in his right ear.

Below the wig, the victim was able to see a dreadlock with a yellow, green and red hair-band on it.

The suspect also wore three metal patterned rings, one on each thumb and one on his right forefinger.

He spoke with a Jamaican accent and was wearing black suit trousers and jacket, a white shirt, black bow-tie, polished black shoes, a black belt with a gold buckle and brown blue and yellow braces.

Anyone who recognise the description of the suspect should contact Bromley Police's CID on 020 8284 8859 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
